TJ didnt waste any more time holding her baby in after Githa foaled out. She foaled a beautiful colt named Jacob. I have to say he is the biggest friesian foal that we have had foal out here. Mommy and baby are doing great. All of our friesian broodmares are such good moms. Now we are just waiting for Afke. Her due date is July 14th, 2011

This is the first year that we have foaled out Githa. We were all very excited to see what kind of foals she would throw. She is a great mother and the foal has her personality already. They are both doing great. Her foal's name is Kahia!

Spring is in the air; we started flood irrigation the other week. The pastures are getting greener by the minute. The pastures that we seeded early spring are coming up great. The trees are budding and the flowers are blooming, after a long hard winter its nice to see color and life on the farm again. Finally we have started breeding our lights mares. We have 4 waiting for pregnancy checks already. We are all crossing our fingers that they are pregnant. Also its about one month until our first foal is due for 2011, we started bringing her into the barn at night and checking her bag now on a daily basis. We are all very excited to get the first foal on the ground. Our babies from 2010 are not babies any more, they seem to grow like weeds over night. I cant believe that they are yearlings already. Cant wait to see what 2011 has in-store for Maddi's Friesian Ranch!!
